  • 2 bananas
  • 2 scoops Greek yogurt
  • 1 glass of milk
  • 1 glass of water (optional)
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon (optional)
  • 1 tbsp honey (optional)

As you can see, this smoothie recipe isn’t complicated at all, but it’s super refreshing and certainly packs a punch.

I personally love having this smoothie in the morning, because it lifts me up and I can skip my coffee.

Strawberries as a smoothie ingredient

Who doesn’t love strawberries? Packed with antioxidants and powerful flavors, strawberries are an absolute treat. Some may say that blending them is a pity because they are so easy to eat as a snack.

I do agree with that to some extent, but when I have other fruits and veggies ready to blend, I love adding some strawberries into the mix just to make the smoothie a bit more energizing.

The same applies to bananas. They are one of my favorite fruits, not just for eating as a healthy snack, but also to add to my smoothie recipes.

Did you that bananas not only taste great but also have some unique health benefits?

Bananas work well in smoothie recipes

Bananas are loaded with a great variety of different vitamins and minerals, such as magnesium, manganese, potassium, zinc, B-vitamins and vitamin C, just to name a few.

Bananas contain tryptophan, a chemical that gets converted into serotonin, a neurotransmitter produced by the brain to help make you feel good and happy.

The potassium in bananas is a mineral that can give your brain a bit of an energy boost and keep you more alert. Eat a couple of bananas before doing an exam, a job interview or a long drive, and you’ll be just fine.
