Ingredients

Carrots can be difficult to blend, especially if you have a blender that is not the most powerful.

You may find that it’s easier to cook the carrots for a few minutes before blending, as this will make them a bit softer and easier for your blender to process.

Depending on your blender and personal preferences, it might also be a good idea to add some extra water to make the smoothie less pulpy.

Carrot and spinach smoothie ingredients:

  • 6 Carrots
  • 2 Apples (with seeds and skin; optional)
  • 1 Small piece of ginger root
  • 50 Grams of spinach
  • 1 Banana
  • Half glass of orange juice (or 1 fresh orange)
  • Water + ice cubes

Verdict

As mentioned, carrots are not the easiest of ingredients to blend, so make sure you add enough liquids for a better result.

For this smoothie, I have added orange juice and also one banana to give it a bit more of a fruity taste.

Carrots as a smoothie ingredient

I also added spinach as a core ingredient. Not only to give this smoothie a slightly green color but also because it gives this filling drink a better balance of nutrients.

It works well with the carrots and ginger, which both have strong and dominant flavors.

Spinach leaves as a smoothie ingredient

Depending on your diet and taste preferences, spinach can easily be replaced with kale or any other green vegetable you may prefer.

Overall this carrot spinach smoothie recipe is delicious and will provide you with a significant amount of nutrients in one go.

I’ve been having frozen peas carrots and spinach cooked in a pan. I’ll definitely give this drink a go, ginger apple and bananas, my faves.
