My taste buds work differently in summer, which is why I love drinking smoothies that are not only nutritious but also super refreshing during those warmer months.
One of those refreshing smoothie recipes is this particular peach spinach smoothie. It’s a classic recipe, that I often change up a bit depending on my mood, but this smoothie somehow just always works for me.
And while it may not be for everyone, I especially love drinking this beverage first thing in the morning as a quick and filling breakfast smoothie, for that much needed energy boost.

Peach Spinach Smoothie Ingredients
So what goes into this delicious drink?
- 1 large cup fresh spinach leaves
- 1 large cup peach slices (fresh or frozen)
- 1 small banana
- 1 tsp honey
- 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
- 1 small handful of almonds (optional)
- 1/2 cup ice cubes (optional)
Nutritional Goodness
I don’t even know why, but peaches and nectarines are among my favorite fruits to eat in summer. I’m guessing it’s the combination of the unique texture and refreshing flavors of peaches that just draws me in.
Why are peaches so healthy?
Fruits and vegetables in general provide us with lots of antioxidants to help strengthen our immune system, and peaches are no different.
Peaches are also very low in calories and fat, and contain no cholesterol or sodium. An average sized peach provides 15% of our daily vitamin C needs and 6% of your daily vitamin A needs, which is quite significant.
In addition, peaches also contain fiber, vitamins E and K, niacin, potassium, magnesium, phosphorus, manganese and copper.
One of my favorite leafy greens to blend with fruits is spinach, another true nutritional powerhouse.
It’s loaded with tons of different nutrients, such as vitamin C, calcium, magnesium, folate, potassium and even protein.
Verdict
As mentioned, I really love drinking this smoothie in the morning. The peaches and banana mix really well with the spinach, and the taste overall is quite refreshing and energizing.
The small teaspoon of honey adds that little bit of sweetness that is so nice when drinking this as a breakfast green smoothie.
The almonds are completely optional, but because I enjoy making this smoothie in the morning, it’s good to add a handful of almonds just to make you feel a bit more satisfied.
They do affect the overall taste a bit, but just try it out and play around with the quantity to get this peach spinach smoothie exactly the way you want it.
